The team of
Vijay Sethupathi’s (VSP) Tughlaq Durbar is getting bigger by the day. After Parthiban, it’s
Aditi Rao Hydari who’s joined the cast of the film that’s being directed by Delhi Prasad Deenadayalan. What’s more, Prem Kumar, who helmed 96, will be handling the cinematography, and Balaji Tharaneetharan has come on board as the dialogue writer.
Talking about how Aditi Rao Hydari joined the cast, Delhi Prasad says, “When I finished the script, I felt that she would be apt to play the role I had written for the female lead.
I met her for a narration and she liked the script. She was quite impressed, if I may say so, and agreed to come on board immediately. She is a fine actress and we are only too happy to have her in the film.”
The actress, who’s busy juggling films in several languages, adds, “I’m very excited to be a part of this film. I’ve been a huge admirer of Vijay Sethupathi and his work. I recently saw Super Deluxe and 96, and loved the films. On Mani sir’s set (of Chekka Chivantha Vaanam), I used to watch him act and now, it’s so amazing to be working with him.”
On roping in Prem, Delhi Prasad says, “We’ve known each other for two decades now; he was my senior at the Film Institute. I worked with him in 96 and he knows the story of Tughlaq Durbar as well. We had several people in mind for cinematography, but eventually, we felt Prem would do justice. I asked him and he simply said okay.” Lalit Kumar, who’s producing the film, informs us that the shoot will begin in Chennai by September end.
