hit screens and the actor took to his social media page to share his happiness. Sharing a picture of his character Sivasamy from the film, Dhanush wrote, “Two years of #அசுரன் #Asuran #sivasami forever grateful #cultclassic.”

The Vetri Maaran directorial is based on Poomani’s novel Vekkai and the plot is inspired by the Kilvenmani massacre in 1968. The film was not only successful at the box office but also turned out to a cult classic by getting screened in the 78th Golden Globe Awards under the Best Foreign Film Category, and was also screened at the 51st International Film Festival of India in Goa.
