Suriya is currently working on his film with director Pandiraj, and the shooting of family drama is proceeding. Now, the latest report is that Suriya is impressed by Vasanthabalan's periodic story. Director Vasanthabalan has reportedly met Suriya in person and narrated a periodic story to the skilled actor. Suriya is also reportedly impressed by Vasanthabalan's story and assured to join hands with the director in the future.

Even though Suriya was seen in several challenging roles, the capable actor was not seen doing a periodic film, and it's a wish of many to see him in the role. The actor has come forward to do a periodic film a couple of times, but it didn't take off. Apart from his current film with Pandiraj, Suriya is also signed in for 'Vaadi Vaasal' with Vetri Maaran, and he will commence the film work next. Suriya's 'Aruvaa' with director Hari is also on hold, and it's unclear whether the film is shelved or not.
