'I love putting asmile on everybody's face. My motto in life is to be happy and bring joyto everyone around.'
Last month, the actress had two releases simultaneously ' the long-delayed Tamil-Malayalam bi-lingual, Vande Mataram, in which she shared screen space with Mammootty and Arjun, and the Malayalam flick, Shikar, with
Mohanlal. Surprisingly, in both these films, she had blink-and-miss roles.
Speaking to CT, Sneha says, 'I haveno control over the final product that appears on screen. In Vande Mataram, thestory that was narrated to me was changed during the making and I'm toldmy role was drastically reduced. I think you should go and ask the director whymy role was cut, because I have no idea about it. As far as Shikar is concerned,I knew that I was the pivot around which the film revolves and, doing a filmwith Lalettan (Mohanlal) was a dream come true. I shot for less number of daysfor Shikar than Vande Mataram and now, with Shikar turning out to be a superhit, I'm flooded with offers in Malayalam.'
Sneha is grounded and matter-of-fact when she says, 'As an actress, I loved doing films like Autograph, Pirivom Sandhippom, Achachamundu! Achachamundu!, which were critically acclaimed, but it is commercial films like a Silambattam or Pandi that gives you the reach. I would like to do a mix of commercial and class films.'
Sneha has a point as she is one of the top endorsersof various products and the ad world believes that she has that rare quality ofbeing popular with the family audiences and the youth at the same time thanks toher screen image.
Meanwhile, the actress is gung-ho about her nextrelease, Bhavani IPS, a remake of yesteryear heroine Vijayshanthi'sVyjayanthi IPS. Says Sneha, 'I'm really kicked about doing my firstfull-length action film, in which I have done some spectacular actionscenes.'
The film, she tells, is totally different from whatshe has done so far. 'It has been one of my toughest assignments. It tookme three days to look and act like Bhavani and believe me, I was told not tosmile, and curb my soft nature on screen and look tough and mean!,' theactress reveals. She also has Murattu Kaalai, Vidiyal and Ponnar Shankar in herkitty.
When asked about rumours of an affair with actor Prasanna, theactress shoots back, 'I've been linked with other actors in thepast. Earlier, I used to make a hue and cry about such reports. Now, I'mpretty cool about these stories in the grapevine, as this is part and parcel ofbeing in showbiz.'
