'says Karthi about his role in his latest release, Saguni, which hits screens today Today's an important day in Karthi's life. After all, his
Saguni, produced by Studio Green and Dream Warrior Pictures, will release across Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh with more than 1000 prints. 'It's the biggest film, release-wise, in my career so far. We wanted everyone to watch the movie, and enjoy it to the core,' begins Karthi with a smile.
Quiz him if he's apprehensive of rustling some feathers in the state for the political content in the flick, and Karthi answers, 'It's a clean film, and totally humorous. It's a satire, yes, but all the situations in the film have been created especially for it. It has nothing to do with real politics.' One of the highlights of the film, the actor says, is the dialogues.
'When director Shankar Dayal narrated the script, what caught our attention was the characterisation and the scope it provided to dole out witty one-liners. In fact, our characters in the film ' Rajini, Kamal and Sridevi ' have been named so because of the narrative,' he says.
The actor insists that essaying the role of a 'modern-day Krishna Paramatma' in
Saguni was a tad bit difficult, more so because he had to share screenspace with veterans like Radhikaa,
Nasser and
Kota Srinivasa Rao.
'I've only worked with youngsters and newcomers so far. But in
Saguni, I had a chance to work with several ace artists. I've known Radhikaa
akka for a long time, and have seen her perform like a pro in front of the camera. But, to work with her and mouth dialogues in her presence had me in jitters. And as luck would have it, in the very first shot with her, I had a three-page dialogue to deliver! I was totally flustered,' he recalls. But Karthi assures that
Saguni is an enjoyable fare that the audience will completely lap up.
As the film releases today, here's a satirical comic flick from Karthi that audiences can enjoy this season.
