On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of music composer
Ilaiyaraaja's musical journey,
Tamil Nadu Government organized a very grand felicitation ceremony at Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai. Leading actors including Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister
Udhayanidhi Stalin, Ministers, various politicians, and fans participated in the event. The gala evening also featured symphony music and other performances.
Ilaiyaraaja on being overwhelmed and speechless
Following this ceremony, Ilaiyaaraja shared a video on his social media expressing heartfelt gratitude. “At the appreciation function held yesterday, I was speechless with so much joy. I couldn't express my feelings in words. I was very happy with the way the ceremony was conducted," he said. He also said, "It is commendable that everyone, like the Chief Minister, Ministers, and Chief Secretary, conducted the event with involvement. So I could not say more words."
Ilaiyaraaja opens up on CM Stalin’s request
Ilaiyaraaja also elaborated on the Chief Minister's request. "The chief minister asked me to compose music for Sangatamizh songs. Those words inspired me. I will definitely do it. The Tamil Nadu government may have decided to hold this festival because it has reached the height of the symphony. Perhaps the Chief Minister felt it was his duty to honor the world record holder,” said Ilayaraja.
Isaignani promises to return with a special event for fans
Finally, expressing his gratitude, the musician said, "Heartfelt thanks to Tamil Nadu Government, Chief Minister Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister Udayanidhi Stalin, and Ministers for organizing this function well. And Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan graced the occasion in person like a crowning glory. Thanks for the love and enthusiasm from the public. Soon I will organize another event for people. I look forward to that day," he said.
