Music maestro
Ilaiyaraaja, who is locked in a dispute with
Prasad Studio
over use of his
recording theatre
in the premises, was supposed to collect his belongings from Prasad Studios today. The Madras High Court had granted one-day access to the composer to the premises of the Studios to meditate and collect his belongings from there. However, the composer seemed to have decided to skip his visit altogether. His spokeperson, who arrived at the venue in the morning, informed the media that the composer was not coming to the studio.
However, few vehicles hired by the composer went inside the studio. It is said that the vehicles will bring back his musical equipment.
Earlier, Ilaiyaraaja had filed a plea asking the new owners of Prasad Studios to avoid interfering with his recording theatre in the studio. He had also sought ₹50 lakh as compensation for mental agony caused due to forcible eviction. The court had then asked Ilaiyaraaja to not press a civil suit if the owners of the property allowed him to visit the premises for a day.
The composer has been using the recording theatre at
LV Prasad
Studio for over three decades now, based on an oral understanding between him and LV Prasad, the founder of the studios. The tussle is now between LV Prasad’s legal heirs and the composer.
