, the distributor of Vijay Sethupathi’s Oru Nalla Naal Paarthu Solren and Goli Soda 2, has now bagged the distribution rights of

Echcharikkai

, which stars Sathyaraj, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Kishore and Vivek Rajagopal.

Says Sathyamurthi, “I had met Sarjun, for whom this marks his debut film, on the set of his second film, which he is making with Nayanthara. I was invited to a screening of this film as a friend and not as a prospective buyer. But I was very impressed with the screenplay, the background score and the direction that I wanted to release the film. This is one of those films that made me feel that I should have been part of as an actor. I told the producer that I’d buy it on first-copy basis itself, which is a first for me. I made this decision because I’m confident that this film will impress the audiences, too.”

Sathyamurthi is also an actor. He has played the lead in Thappu Thanda and is now acting in Odavum Mudiyathu Oliyavum Mudiyathu, which he is also producing. “The film is a horror comedy and a lot of popular YouTubers are part of it,” he informs. He has also firmed up his next two productions — one directed by Sha Ra (of Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu fame) and another with Anand Krishna, the director of Metro.
