I was initially skeptical about entering films: Divyabharathi
The shoot for GV Prakash’s next
Talking about her maiden project, an excited Divya says, “I am happy that I am working with such a good team in my debut film. The shoot is yet to start but I am already quite comfortable with each one of them. The entire team, especially Satish and GV, ensured that I never felt out of the place. I play an IT professional working in Bengaluru in the relationship drama.”
What’s interesting is that Divya never thought in her wildest dreams that one day she would be part of the tinsel town. “I had got few film offers earlier. Acting was not something I had on my mind as I was quite happy with modelling in the last three years. But, when auditions for this film came up, something inside me made me go for it. Fortunately, my audition went well and the team zeroed in on me. I was initially sceptical about entering the film industry as I was unsure if I’d appeal to the audience. I then started leaving no stone unturned to prep for my role.”
When quizzed about what kind of roles she would like to do in future, Divya says, “I want to play a village belle as I feel that I will suit such characters well.” She adds that Tamil-speaking girls like her need to believe that they can be part of the industry even without a godfather. “I do not know anyone from the industry and I still made it. This means there is scope for others, too.”
