Rajinikanth opened up on his first love at the Natchathira Vizha 2018, an event organised in Malaysia by the
South Indian Artistes Association
(SIAA). The event is for raising funds for construction of a new building for the 'Nadigar Sangam'.
When asked about his first love, Rajini said, “Yes, I have fallen in love. I had that experience while studying in a school in
Karnataka. I cannot forget it. Everybody’s first love stays in their hearts. Many have succeeded in their first love and many have failed in it. I failed in my first love.” However, the '2.0' actor refused to reveal the name of the girl.
Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan shared the stage on the occasion of the star event 'Natchathira Vizha' in Kaula Lampur, Malaysia, where the two fielded questions on cinema, politics and spirituality.

Vivek quizzed Rajini if he felt he missed out on the political opportunity that came his way in 1996, Rajini replied, "I have not worried about it even for a second."
