I always wanted to be an actor: Akshaya

Madurai-based actress Akshaya Priya of Maruthu fame is excited about her next, Imai. The film is being helmed by Malayalam director Vijay K Mohan of Venalmaram fame and has Sarish in the lead. The film tracks the love story between an uncivil guy and a smart girl that happens during a train journey.
Talking about the film, Priya says, “I play an ambitious girl, who completes her education in Mumbai.She comes to Pondicherry just to meet her childhood crush. What follows forms the crux.” On bagging the film, she adds, “I was selected after several rounds of auditions. It is a performance-oriented role and I must thank the director for helping with the dialogues and expressions.”
Though a newbie, Priya says that she always wanted to become an actress. She says, “It has always been my dream to become an actor someday. After I completed my studies, I tried my luck in films with the help of my aunt, who has some contacts in the film industry. I wish to do more such performance-oriented roles in the future.”
