Rajinikanth’s 'Baba' has been re-released in theatres today (Dec 10). The fantasy film, which was a failure at the box office in 2002, has hit the big screens again today after 20 years. Fans of Rajinikanth gathered in large numbers to revisit the film of their favorite star and the FDFS for the film opened at 4 am Fans enjoyed the film with dance, music, and cheer, while the theatres that screened 'Baba' across locations have turned festive.

'Baba' has been re-released for the occasion of Rajinikanth's birthday, and the 20-year-old film has got more shows despite the new releases. The re-release version of 'Baba' is 30 minutes shorter than the 2002 version, while the makers have done a big change in the film's climax to suit the audience’s expectations today.

Directed by Suresh Krissna, 'Baba' features Rajinikanth in the lead role as a carefree youngster, who gets a sudden power from the lord Baba. Manisha Koirala plays the female lead, while the film has a stellar star cast that includes Sujatha, M.N. Nambiar, Goundamani, Ashish Vidhyarthi, Amrish Puri, Vijayakumar, Delhi Ganesh, M.R.R. Vasu Vikram, Karunaas, Riyaz Khan, Sayaji Shinde, Manohar, Kitty, and Sanghavi. AR Rahman scored the music, and the visuals were captured by Chota K Naidu.
