Atlee credited Shah Rukh Khan’s ownership of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as the driving force behind his decision to buy a sports team. "Shah Rukh Sir has always been my godfather in cinema, and whatever he has done, whatever he has taught me, I’m just doing it," said Atlee, reflecting on the influence the actor has had on his career. Despite not being fully familiar with the sport, Atlee and Priya expressed confidence in their team, with a spirit of encouragement and belief in their players.
