About the title, he explains, “Pancharaaksharam is the term for the chant

Om Namah Shivaya

. In mythology, Shiva represents the five elements. This film has five characters which are based on each of the five elements. Fire is represented by a guitarist character played by Gokul Anand of Chennai2Singapore fame; Santhosh Prathap’s character, a traveller, represents the sky while Yaanum Theeyavan’s Ashwin plays a racer, and this one symbolises land. Thoongavanam girl Madhu Shalini will be seen a writer, representing air, and the character of a humanitarian, played by Sana Althaf, who was seen as Jai’s pair in Chennai 600028: II Innings, will represent water.”
Interestingly, the director adds that there will not be a romantic angle between these characters.

Balaji, who has done a six-month filmmaking course in London, has assembled a team of young and promising technicians as his crew — Jackson Durai’s Yuva as the cinematographer, KS Sundaramoorthy (8 Thotakkal) as the composer and National Award-winner KL Praveen’s assistant Anand as the editor.
