Harish Kalyan, who earlier delivered two back-to-back hits, 'Parking' and 'Lubber Pandhu', is currently gearing up for the release of 'Diesel', a sea-themed film. The film was mostly shot in and around the sea. In a recent interview with Sudhir Srinivasan,
Harish Kalyan shared a shocking story he heard from a fisherman during the film's promotions.
Harish Kalyan recounts a fisherman’s tale of surviving 48 days
Harish Kalyan said, “A few days before the start of 'Diesel' shooting, we were at sea for two or three days, to avoid getting seasick during the shoot. Then a 70-year-old retired fisherman told me an incredible story. Years ago, his boat capsized in a storm and drifted to the Bangladesh border. He was lost at sea for about 48 days.”

Harish Kalyan further added, “When he was rescued, he was very scratchy and grumpy, but he was alive. The person he told said he drank his own urine to stay alive, because drinking seawater can dehydrate the body and kill it. After hearing this amazing story, I was touched by the feeling of how proud I am to live.”
‘Diesel’ set for October 17 release
Written and directed by Shanmugam Murugasamy, 'Diesel' stars
Athulya Ravi, Vinay Roy, Sai Kumar, Ananya, Karunas, Ramesh Thilak, Kali Venkat, and
Vivek Prasanna in important roles. Cinematography is jointly handled by M.S. Prabhu and Richard M. Nathan, while action scenes are choreographed by Stunt Selva and Rajasekhar. 'Diesel' is hitting the big screens on October 17 ahead of this Diwali. The action film will take on Dhruv Vikram's 'Bison' and Pradeep Ranganathan's 'Dude' at the box office. The clash of films of three different genres is set to make Kollywood fans busy this festival season.
