Following the #MeToo allegations made by singer

Chinmayi Sripada

, the

Dubbing Union

here, headed by veteran actor Radha Ravi, had banned the former from working in film industry. The High Court has now extended the stay on the ban imposed by the union which has come as a respite for the singer. An excited Chinmayi took to Twitter to announce the same. She posted, “The Hon’ble Court has extended the stay on the ban on my working in Tamil Films by the Dubbing Union headed by Mr Radha Ravi.” She added, “In normal parlance - I am legally allowed to work in Tamil films.”

Unsurprisingly, her message received mixed reactions from netizens. One of the followers asked her who will give her work though

HC

has announced a verdict in favour of her, she shot back asking, ‘The Tamil Film Industry should, no?’ She went on to add, “The thing is it is my fundamental right to work, as I have been enlightened of the due processes the past few months. The Dubbing Union is affiliated to the FEFSI and their agreement with FEFSI works like this - to ban whoever Radha Ravi’s Dubbing Union deems fit.”
