Actor Vikram is celebrating his birthday on April 17, today. The actor just turned 56 and he made his debut in 1990. He is one of the prominent actors in the South film industry and has appeared in Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and Telugu movies. Vikram has done a variety of roles in his film and each of his roles stands out predominantly because of his acting performance. He is dearly called as ‘Chiyaan’ by his fans.

Deiva Thirumagal

‘Deiva Thirumagal’ was directed by AL Vijay and released in 2011. Vikram’s acting was unbelievable as nobody expected that an actor could pull off the role of a mentally challenged person and act like a 5-year-old throughout the movie. The film was an emotional family drama and Vikram won the maximum awards that year as the Best Actor.

Raavanan

The film was released in 2010 and it was directed by Mani Ratnam. With Vikram and Aishwarya Raai playing the lead roles, though the film was not a blockbuster hit, it ran in theatres housefull because of Vikram’s acting, reportedly. It was an action-adventure film and Vikram won the Filmfare Award for this movie.

Anniyan

'Anniyan’ was directed by Shankar and it was released in 2005. Featuring Sada and Vikram in the lead roles, the film is an action drama. This was one of the first Tamil movies that included the concept of multiple personality disorder. Vikram as an actor proved himself by playing three different characters in just one film as Ambi, Anniyan and Remo. The film was a blockbuster hit.

Pithamagan

‘Pithamagan’ was released in 2003 and it was directed by Bala. Featuring Vikram, Suriya and Laila in the lead roles the film was a sleeper hit. ‘Pithamagan’ is one of the movies that even today speak worthy about Vikram’s acting skills. Vikram was awarded the Best Male Actor by Tamil Nadu State Film Awards for this movie. In the movie Vikram carved a niche for himself by playing a role with excellent body language and no dialogue.

Saamy

‘Saamy’ was released in 2003 and it was directed by Hari. Featuring Vikram and Trisha in the lead roles, the film was an action drama. ‘Saamy’ was one of the cop stories that was trending in lines of ‘Kaakha Kaakha’. Vikram’s acting was remarkable which made the film a super hit. The line Vikram used in the film ‘Naan police illa porukki’ is still on trend today.

‘Sethu’ was released in 1999 and it was directed by Bala. Featuring Vikram and Abitha in the lead roles, the movie was a romantic drama. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature in Tamil and actor Vikram also won several awards for his acting which was extraordinary in this film. The music for the movie was composed by Ilaiyaraaja.
