Against all odds, including a court case, he has been able to release his Radha Mohan-directed Payanam, which has been getting rave reviews and setting the cash registers ringing. A relaxed Prakash Raj, who is currently shooting for his film with Ram Gopal Varma film that���������s being made in five days, in Hyderabad, says, ���������The release and success of Payanam (Gaganam in Telugu) is a major victory for me. I fought against a financier who had cooked up accounts and won the battle, thanks to Lalita, my ex-wife who is now a good friend. She had signed some documents a few years ago when I took the loan. The financier thought that by dragging her into the issue, he could fix me. But, she stood with me and turned the tables on him. Now, we���������ve filed a case against the financier for forgery!��������� Prakash further explains, ���������Isalute the audiences for making the film a hit. First and foremost, it gives metremendous joy that a film that I believed in succeeded at the BO. It provesthat if a film is made with passion and purpose by people who believe in goodcinema, it will work with the audiences. About taking swipes at the superstar syndromeprevailing in Tamil cinema through the ���������Shining Star Chandrakanth���������character in the film, Prakash laughs and says, ���������He represents allfalsehood in our cinema. No single person has been targetted. We are laughing atourselves through that character.���������Meanwhile, directorLingusamy, who is distributing the film, says, ���������I liked it immensely anddecided to buy the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights though it did not have theroutine commercial ingredients.
