Agathiyan's directorial 'Kadhal Kottai' has Ajith and Devayani playing the lead roles. Released in 1996, the romantic drama narrates a story of lovers, who haven't met each other in person. Ajith delivered a solid performance and stole the hearts of fans.

'Valee'

Ajith played a dual role in SJ Suryah's directorial 'Valee'. He essayed the role of identical brothers, one the protagonist and the other the antagonist in the suspense drama. The superstar showcased his versatility through the film. It is also impossible to replace Ajith with any actor, living or dead in this film.

'Mugavaree'

Ajith joined hands with director VZ Durai for 'Mugavaree' and he played the role of an aspiring youngster, who desires to make his music debut. The inspiring story impressed the audience and Ajith secured a special place in their hearts through the character. Ajith breathed life into the role of Sridhar in 'Mugavaree' and it's doubtful whether anyone else could have done the role as neatly as Ajith.

Ajith played a triple role as a father and his identical sons in KS Ravikumar's directorial 'Varalaru'. The first ever triple role of the talented actor well proved his strength, and he gave his best for his three different characters. Ajith won several awards for the successful film, while the director himself accepted several times that he couldn't have found a more suitable actor than Ajith.

Ajith joined hands with director Venkat Prabhu for 'Mankatha', which also marked his 50th film as an actor. Ajith played a negative role in the heist thriller, and the film went on to become a huge hit. It's surely his finest roles too date.
