Ajith Kumar’s action-comedy ‘Good Bad Ugly’, which also marked his massive comeback after a series of underwhelming films, is all set to entertain audiences at home.
Gearing up for OTT releaseThe film, directed by Adhik Ravichandran, will make its digital debut on OTT on May 8, 2025. The movie will be available in five languages — Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
‘Good Bad Ugly’ was released in theatres on April 10, 2025, and received a decent reception at the box office, especially amid a year marked by multiple underperforming Tamil films. With its vibrant mix of action, quirky humour, and a charismatic performance from Ajith Kumar, the film found appreciation from fans who enjoyed its refreshing take on the hero-versus-villain genre.
“He’s done being good. Now he’s going to be bad “The OTT platform officially confirmed the streaming date on Saturday with a poster and caption that read, “He’s done being good. Now he’s going to be bad - and things are about to get ugly. Watch Good Bad Ugly on Netflix, streaming from May 8 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.”
Ajith Kumar headlines the film, playing a layered and unpredictable character that traverses the three titular shades — good, bad, and ugly. The movie also features a strong ensemble cast including Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, Sunil, and Priya Prakash Varrier, each adding depth and flavour to the storyline.
It is cinema of maximalism, often breaking the third wallThe digital release is expected to give the film a second life, allowing audiences who missed it in theatres to enjoy Ajith’s action-packed performance which is surely a treat for the fans. Check out our ETimes review which reads, “In Adhik, he (Ajith) seems to have found the right director to pull it off. Adhik's films so far have been largely polarising - you either like his style of filmmaking or hate it, with no in-between. But his is definitely a unique voice, especially in the realm of our mass masala films - overloud (but in a very different way compared to someone like Hari) and visually distinct (but poles apart from a Karthik Subbaraj). It is cinema of maximalism, often breaking the third wall, peppered with throwbacks, and with only one goal - to deliver a high every few minutes. More than mass masala, it's max masala!”
