Gen-X opts for quickies
After two big-ticket productions of superstars Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu got stuck in the making for almost two years and received flak for exceeding their budgets and putting the producers in red, Gen X actors seem to have realised the significance of time-bound projects and are busy wrapping up their productions within 6 to 7 months.
Ram Charan Tej, who spent 270 days for Magadheera, has wrapped up his next film Orange within 6 months.

Time bound projects have become a necessity considering the budgetary constraints of a regional film. So, we finished Orange within stipulated time and budget. After a 10-day break, for my other film Merupu Ill have to begin work and learn soccer from a professional, says Charan.
The other Gen X star Naga Chaitanya too is busy shooting round-the-clock for two big films. It is hectic since both the films belong to different genres. We have to be on our toes and I like to be a busy bee, he confesses.
The unit of another big-ticket film Shakti starring NTR Jr is toiling hard to wrap up their socio-fantasy. We are shooting day and night without a break since its a magnum opus and we will be shooting nonstop until Dussera to wrap up a major portion, says director Meher Ramesh, who is planning for a summer release. A reliable source in the production house says, We want to finish our film as soon as possible without compromising on quality and in tend to hit the marquee in February.
Actor Ram, who has a big film with director Karunakaran, in March next, is planning a quickie before it. I liked two scripts narrated by debutant directors and Id like to start and finish one film before March, he reveals Hotshot Rana who was also associated with a stretched out project Leader is now busy shooting for a start-to-finish movie with director Puri Jagannath. We are planning to release our film for Sankranthi in January and we are progressing at the right pace, says producer Nallamallapu Srinivas (Bujji).
Finally, the importance of time-bound projects has dawned on T-town stars as they are hurrying up with their projects. Besides fetching table profit for producers, the industry would be benefited with more number of releases.
