Even as
Gayathrie Shankar
is awaiting the release of
Maamanithan
, she has bagged
Seenu Ramasamy's next with
GV Prakash. "She plays a nurse from
Andipatti
in this film," says director Seenu Ramasamy, adding, "Her character crosses paths with GV's character, who runs a meat shop. Both the lead characters have equal weightage."
Ask Ramasamy if he chose her since they had worked together in Maamanithan and he says, "Not really. In this film, I needed someone who can pull off three looks - that of a school girl, a working woman and a mother. We even did auditions with many actresses and newcomers. I later realised that Gayathrie was the best person for the job as she can not only pull off the three looks well, but can also perform convincingly. Maamanithan will unleash a new side of Gayathrie. Her character will be talked about."
