Even as he is receiving warm reviews for his Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, starring Silambarasan TR, which hit screens today, Gautham Vasudev Menon has finalised his new film. The director, in a recent interaction, revealed that he would be directing Ram Pothineni in a new film next year. He also added producer Sravanthi Ravi Kishore has been a bridge between Ram and him for a long time.
After a variety of roles in his career, Ram Pothineni is now all set to embark on a unique film with this brand new association with Gautham Menon next year.
Interestingly, Ram was Gautham Menon's first choice as lead for the Telugu version of his 2012 film Neethaane En Ponvasantham, titled Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu. The actor had even shot a few scenes, along with the film's lead Samantha, before being replaced with Nani.
While his new, intense gangster drama VTK (known as The Life of Muthu in Telugu) is being released in Telugu by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore under his Sravanthi Movies banner, this announcement has created quite a buzz already.
Known for his stylish, modern thrillers, Gautham Menon has attempted an intense action drama with Simbu. Even Ram has been pulling-off mass action roles lately. Thus, it gives space for a lot of speculations on the nature of the movie that is going to come out in their combination. Given that Ram recently debuted in Tamil with Lingusamy's The Warriorr, this new project is likely to be a Tamil-Telugu bilingual.
Ram's upcoming film, which is being directed by Akhanda fame Boyapati Srinu, referred to #BoyapatiRaPo, is ready to start the shooting by the end of this month. The film is going to be a pan-Indian flick.
