Gautham Vasudev Menon explains what made him direct 'Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha'

Director Gautham Vasudev Menon's film 'Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha' was released in theatres today, March 1, and the movie stars Varun in the lead role. The action film is getting a decent response in theatres. Director Gautham Menon, in a recent podcast with a regional channel, explained what made him choose to direct the film.

Autham stated that he wanted to answer the question of whether his work will be defined or if there is something beyond it. Stressing on it, the director said that he is a different person when he is at home, and there is a separate world in his mind that made him write the story for 'Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha'.


Starting the talk with him realising his aim to shoot a film at the age of 16, the director said that he would not know what else he would have been doing if not for filmmaking.

Gautham Vasudev Menon said that if he had not taken up the task of filmmaking, he would have become a househusband. He said that he loves to stay at home, cook, and take care of people and kids. He added that he generally likes to be in the kitchen and cook. Citing an example, if he sees someone eating, he will come forward to serve them another course. He also added that, in case there was a change in his life, he might have also become a professional cricketer.
