Gautham Menon picks Vijay over Ajith; deets inside

Director Gautham Menon is famous for his Tamil films, and he is next set to deliver 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu' starring Silambarasan. Gautham Menon, who worked with Ajith for 'Yennai Arindhaal' in the past, was asked to pick one actor from Ajith and Vijay and the director straightaway opted for Vijay and didn't mention his 'Yennai Arindhaal' actor.

In 2010, Gautham Menon was supposed to direct a spy thriller 'Yohan' with Vijay in the lead role, but the film got shelved after the initial photo shoot due to differences between the both. Gautham Menon has also picked AR Rahman and Kamal Haasan, from AR Rahman-Ilaiyaraja and Rajinikanth-Kamal Haasan.

On the work front, Gautham Menon is currently working on the post-production work of 'Vendhu Thanidhathu Kaadu' starring Silambarasan, and the story of the film is reportedly about the life of a youngster, who shift to an unknown place for his job. Siddhi Idnani plays the female lead, and the film composed by AR Rahman is scheduled to release on September 15. Gautham Menon's 'Joshua' starring Varun in the lead role is ready for release, and the film is long-delayed to find a suitable release date.
