Movie lovers have been getting bored since theaters across the country have been shut down due to the Coronavirus. But, we have a solution for all those people! While you spend time in self-quarantine, we suggest you relax by watching some light-hearted films to get your minds off the depressing pandemic. Here are five comedy films in Tamil from 'Friends' to 'Dhilluku Dhuddu 2' that will leave you laughing out loud.

'Friends' - 2001

In this film, a man values his best friend more than anything else in the world. One day, he confesses to his wife about a dark secret from his childhood that is overheard by the friend. Once the secret is out, the friendship is destroyed. Vijay, Suriya, and Ramesh Kanna played the role of three friends in the 2001 film 'Friends', which was directed by Siddique. Comedian Vadivelu had played an important role as the contractor Nesamani in the film, and his character is still remembered by his fans.

​'Sundara Travels' - 2002

Two friends plan to turn a bad rundown bus into a mobile canteen. However, they first have to deal with a sneaky mouse and a woman who turns the bus into her home. Actor Murali and Vadivelu had played the roles of two friends in 'Sundara Travels', and the comic scenes between the two are highly enjoyable. The film was directed by Thaha, and it featured Murali, Vadivelu, and Radha in lead roles.

​'Panchathanthiram' - 2002

The story of 'Panchathanthiram' was about Ram, a philanderer who quits his playboy nature after marrying Maithili. But Mitali regards Ram as a cheater after a series of unfortunate incidents. And it’s upon Ram how he proves his innocence. 'Panchathanthiram' featured Kamal Haasan, Simran, Jayaram, Ramesh Aravind, Yugi Sethu, Sriman, and Ramya Krishnan in important roles. The film was directed by KS Ravi Kumar, while the hilarious dialogues of the film were written by Crazy Mohan.

​'Kalakalapu' - 2012

In the plot of the film, a man struggles to keep his family-owned restaurant afloat. He's interested in closing the place for a health inspector soon. When his brother enters the scene, things get worse. The Sundar C directorial 'Kalakalapu' is loosely based on the 2009 German comedy 'Soul Kitchen'. Actors Vimal and Shiva played brothers in the film, while actresses Anjali and Oviya paired opposite them respectively.

​'Dhilluku Dhuddu 2'

In this film, in an attempt to escape the actions of Viji, his neighbors conspire to make him fall in love with Maya. However, everything turns upside down when he realizes that a ghost has been protecting Maya. The horror-comedy 'Dhilluku Dhuddu 2' was a sequel to ‘Dhilluku Dhuddu’, which also dealt with the same plot. Santhanam played the lead actor in both the films and made the audience enjoy his unique dialogue delivery. 'Dhilluku Dhuddu 2' which was written and directed by Rambhala, featured Santhanam and Shritha Sivadas in lead roles.
