PL Thenappan, who produced the movie, claims that its Hindi rights belong to him, and that he had sold it to SN Media two years ago. On the other hand,

Cine Arts holds the entire rights of the project.
According to Thenappan, “If TR has the rights, let him prove it with proper documents at the court. I don’t understand why he is unnecessarily claiming to have the rights of the movie. I listened to his story and agreed to produce it and this is how I’m being treated now. Anyway, I had sold the Hindi dubbing rights to a company and they will be telecasting the movie soon.”
Reacting to Thenappan’s claims, Rajhendherr explains, “The initial agreement was that Thenappan and Simbu will have 50 per cent rights on the movie’s all language rights as they are the producer and director, respectively. Later, when he couldn’t pay the remuneration, the then producers council, under the presidency of Ramanarayanan, said that we can take over the complete rights of the movie. In fact, we had sold the Telugu rights long ago. How can he sell the Hindi rights without our consent? This is a criminal offence.”
