Filmi dhamaka for Telugu viewers

Ra One��� and ���7 Am Arivu��� might have stolen Tollywood���s Diwali thunder, but in the coming three months, Telugu viewers are in for a dhamaka. As many as 13 films showcasing almost all the top stars of the Telugu film industry are all set for release.
Peak season
D Suresh Babu, President of AP Film Chamber of Commerce says the coming few months are very crucial to the Telugu film industry financially.���After having to face the onslaught of dubbed movies, it���s good news that a lot of big Telugu films with some of our top stars are releasing. For Mahesh Babu���s ���Businessman��� that���s releasing in January 2011, theaters have already been booked in advance. Then you have Pawan Kalyan���s ���Panjaa���, Balakrishna���s ���Sri Ramarajyam���, Venkatesh���s ���Bodyguard��� and Nag-arjuna���s ���Rajanna��� hitting the screens by yearend. Big money ��� almost to the tune of `150 crore ��� is riding on these films. So, even if some of these films turn out to be hits it���s good for the industry,��� he says.
Small films in the race
With a number of big films lined up, small films are getting the jitters. Citing a recent incident, producer DS Rao says, ���My film was doing well, but it was pulled off from theaters to accommodate two big Diwali releases.��� In this scenario, two small films ���Nuvilla��� and ���It���s My Love Story��� will be pitted against some big films in November. Despite their BO results, their fate to a large extent depends on the producer���s clout in the industry.
It���s all about business
While it���s an unwritten diktat that the theater owners have an upper hand, Vijayender Reddy, president of Hyderabad Film Chamber of Commerce and AP Exhibitors Association, says that it is not so. ���We never think in terms of small films or big films. There are number of occasions where big films that did not do well had to make way for a small film. ���Bathukamma��� is a case in point. However, it is always prudent for the producer to do a reality check on whether his film will be able to withstand the competition, especially when you have a big line-up of films with almost all the big stars of Tollywood.���

November 11, 2011 ��� the date being touted as the ���money bags��� day has also caught the fancy of T-Town filmmakers. Madhura Sridhar, director of ���It���s My Love Story��� says,
���Many big films are planning to release on that day, but I would like to fight it out. Even Dil Raju, producer of ���Oh My Friend��� says, ���It���s a unique date and my film is unique too. It���s going to stand out as one of the top three films in this year.���
