As speculation is rife about Rajinikanth-starrer Darbar incurring loss for a few parties, including distributors, a few theatre owners came out tweeting about the film’s performance in their halls. They have expressed happiness over the movie’s performance and rubbished off news doing the rounds that the film is a loss venture.
The Twitter handle of Namakkal-based LMR Multiplex tweeted, “Stop kidding, #Darbar movie is most Profitable movie , there is no chances to loss for distributors ,Kindly Don't believe rumours.” Similarly, the handle of Maharaj theatre from Erode, tweeted, “Yesterday was the last screening of #Darbar in our property (22 days).
As we mentioned earlier, It had easily surpassed #Bigil, #Viswasam & #Petta our previous best records.”
Jayamaruthi Cinemas from Gobichettipalayam posted, “Some media outlets are projecting #Darbar as a loss venture, but for us #Darbar was a good success! #Thalaivar as always is a minimum guarantee actor who pulls in massive crowds into the auditorium for his name, and Darbar wasn't anything different.” The handle of Dindigul-based Uma Rajendra theatre tweeted, “Today marks the final day of #Darbar and what a run it has had by overtaking #Petta gross and footfalls in two weeks. Despite missing over 5 shows on Day 1, it has had a phenomenal run and what a start to this decade and 2020.”
Interestingly, the Twitter handles of other state theatre also joined the bandwagon. Mumbai-based Aurora Talkies tweeted, “#Darbar movie is most Profitable tamil movie in #Mumbai, distributors are very happy so don’t believe rumours.” Bengaluru-based Vijay theatre was another movie hall which came up with a tweet about the film’s good response from public.
