Exclusive: Charuhasan turns a don, sporting a Bal Thackeray-like look!

, has teamed up with the director yet again for a gangster film. The veteran had shot for the untitled film for seven days in March before film shoots were called off due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“He appeared only for a small portion in our previous film, but since that role got good reception, I decided to write a film in which he played the central role. He will be seen as a powerful gangster who has nationwide influence in this film,” says the director, adding that the

actor

’s look, resembling the late Bal Thackeray, is unintentional. “I’ve written it as a story about a frail old man who holds so much power. But both Charuhasan sir and Mime Gopi, who is playing a key role, remarked on the resemblance to Bal Thackeray. This is a story about underworld dons,” he clarifies.

He adds that religion will also figure as a plot element. “You can see that there is a religious angle, going by the costume. We have done a teaser, and that will make it even more evident. We will be releasing it once the situation improves,” he says.

Vijay informs that he has roped in a popular hero to do a crucial role in the film, and that it will also have some veteran actors in its cast.

The team is planning to shoot some of the portions in Kerala and Goa, “but only after we come out of the lockdown”.

Given that the elderly Charuhasan falls in the high-risk category, the director adds that he is planning to shoot the portions with the other actors first and then invite the veteran for shoots, after ensuring complete precautionary measures are taken.
