Actor-director
Parthiepan
recently spoke up against the restrictions placed by
Producer's Council
on
film advertisements
. The actor was quoted in the interview that among the 1,000 screens in Tamil Nadu, 800 were allotted to the Ilayathalapathy Vijay-starrer
Bairavaa
, which hit screens on January 12. But, his
Koditta Idangalai Nirappunga
, which released on January 14, only got 200 screens.'
The veteran director said that to compete with a big film like Bairavaa, he should give a full page advertisement in newspapers, but with the Producer's Council placing restrictions on film advertisements, he is not able to do so. The council should either give equal number of screens for both films or not restrict the advertisement strategies. The director requested to either give them freedom or equality.
