is now busy with his upcoming films. Playing the role of a director and producer, Ranjith has a few lined-up projects that are soon to make a big cut in the screens. Following ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’, the director with the same crew shot the coming-of-age film ‘
Natchathiram Nagargirathu
’. Featuring
Kalaiarasan
,
Kalidas Jayaram and
Dushara Vijayan, the film is reportedly scheduled to release in theatres in July.
Ranjith also announced his upcoming project at the 75
th Cannes International Film Festival. Apart from ‘
Chiyaan 61
’ and
Kamal Haasan’s new film he also has ‘Vettuvam’ and ‘

KGF). Reportedly, the director waited for ‘KGF 2’ to release before beginning with ‘Chiyaan 61’ which is from the same background.
After ‘Chiyaan 61’, Ranjith will begin shooting for ‘Vettuvam’ and Kamal Haasan’s next film – both based on a rural background with the protagonist fighting against injustice. In a recent interview with a media house, Ranjith revealed that all his said projects will be executed and completed within the next three years.
The director is also making his Bollywood debut with the film ‘Birsa Munda’. He is also reportedly planning to work on a web series set in the time period of the 90s. It is said that the series will explore the lens of boxing society in India, similar to that of ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’. Speculations state that the series will be exploring the prequel and sequel scenario of ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’.
