Vetrimaaran is gearing up to shoot his next film ‘Vaadivaasal’ with Suriya. Meanwhile, he is shooting the film ‘Viduthalai’ featuring
Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role along with Soori and
Bhavani Sre. The film in its cast also includes
Gautham Vasudev Menon,
Prakash Raj and
Kishore in important roles.
The new buzz is that director
Rajiv Menon has joined the sets of ‘Viduthalai’ to be part of the cast of the film. However, an official announcement regarding the director’s character in the film is yet to be confirmed.
Earlier last month, on July 19, it was reportedly stated that Vijay Sethupathi’s son Surya joined the cast of ‘Viduthalai’ to play the role of a tribal boy. Actor
Suri is said to play the role of a serious police official and Vijay Sethupathi plays the role of a teacher. The music for the movie is composed by
Ilaiyaraaja.
The film is a crime thriller and ‘Viduthalai’ is adapted from the novel titled ‘Thunaivan’ written by Jeyamohan. The initial shooting for the film began in 2019 and the first look was released in April 2021. It is expected that the film will be released in theatres at the end of this year. Reportedly, the film will be made in two parts. The film will soon be moved into post-production as nearly 90% of the shooting is completed.
