At the event, the director said, “Romantic films have become rare nowadays, and it is refreshing to see a movie like 'Kannira' being made. This film has been beautifully crafted with love as its central theme. After a long time, we are getting a good love story. It has been shot in Malaysia and is being released here. Everyone should support it."

He then added, "People claim that small-budget films aren’t doing well. Theater owners say there’s hardly any audience for such films. This issue must be addressed and resolved. The cinema industry is in a major crisis. Today, there are no audiences or theaters for small films. Only if a movie is perfectly timed and well-received will people show up. This issue doesn’t affect big hero films. What needs to be done to attract audiences to small-budget films? Everyone must come together and discuss this. The prices of items sold in theaters are outrageous. On top of that, parking fees are exorbitant. With such conditions, how will people come to theaters? Instead of blaming others, we must address the issues within our system.”
