Did you know Vidaamuyarchi's story was chosen by Ajith, not Magizh Thirumeni?

'Vidaamuyarchi' is one of the highly anticipated upcoming films, and the Ajith starrer is slated to release on February 6. 'Vidaamuyarchi' is said to be an inspiration from the Hollywood film 'Breakdown', and director Magizh Thirumeni has clarified the film's story in his recent interview with Hindu Tamil. “This story is not mine. I initially wanted to create an action thriller with Ajith sir in the lead. However, the script was one that Ajith sir himself suggested. The image he carries and the character he portrays in this film have no relation. This is not a mass entertainer, so fans shouldn't expect that. Ajith sir had a vision for this kind of film, and he wanted to make it a reality", explains Magizh Thirumeni.

Magizh Thirumeni then added that "'Vidaamuyarchi' perfectly complements Ajith sir’s current image. However, if you're expecting a typical superhero, this isn't the film for you. It’s a story about an ordinary person who transforms into a hero, which is what sets it apart. As an action director, I've been fortunate to work on such impactful narratives. I was about to ask why he chose me for this project, but before I could, Ajith sir said, ‘Let’s step out of our comfort zones and create something different.’ I made sure to give my best with the script he provided. If you watch this film without preconceived expectations, you will certainly enjoy the experience."

Magizh Thirumeni declined to comment on any connection between 'Vidaamuyarchi' and 'Breakdown'. However, it was clarified that Vidaamuyarchi is based on a story suggested by Ajith to Magizh Thirumeni, not one written by the director himself.
