Did you know Janagaraj and Kamal Haasan distanced themselves after the 'Gunaa' movie?

Tamil actor Janagaraj has entertained audiences for decades with his unique comedy roles. His talent in supporting mainstream actors to make third movie box office hits is noticeable. The actor collaborated with Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan in many films like ‘Nayakan’ and ‘Vikram’. But the duo was last seen together in the 1991 film ‘Gunaa’, which is a topic of discussion these days due to a Malayalam film ‘Manjummel Boys’.

Now the fans are amazed why Janagaraj did not get any movies after that with Kamal Haasan. According to News 18, producer and filmmaker Rasi Azhagappan and the assistant director on the sets of ‘Gunaa’ have shared that Kamal Haasan and Janagaraj distanced from each other after an incident happened in the making of ‘Gunaa’.

Rasi Azhagappan mentioned that both Kamal Haasan and Janagaraj were from the same neighborhood in Chennai called Alwarpet. They used to play cricket together and were good friends. However, their friendship turned sour during a dubbing session for ‘Gunaa’ at AVM Garden Theatre.


Azhagappan, along with the director Santhana Bharathi, were supervising Janagaraj's dubbing, but there was a disagreement between Janagaraj and another actor, RS Shivaji, over the delivery of lines.

When Janagaraj refused to re-do the dubbing as suggested by Shivaji, things got heated, leading to a physical dispute between Janagaraj and Shivaji. The director also took Shivaji’s side. Kamal Haasan reportedly agreed with Santhana Bharathi’s statement, and Janagaraj got hurt by the whole incident.
