The latest horror comedy, Dhilluku Dhuddu, which has
Santhanam in the lead, has opened to good reviews. And the response it got on the first day has also opened avenues to be remade in other languages. We hear that a lot of people in Bollywood are interested in remaking this horror comedy.
Confirming the news, producer Murali Ramaswamy of Sri Thenandal Films says, The film has opened big in Tamil Nadu and we are happy with the response.
We first released in over 300 screens, now a couple of multiplexes have increased the number of screens for the weekend. Even though it has been just a day since the release, we are getting a lot of calls from Bollywood for a Hindi remake. We will be initiating the talks soon. Releasing it during the Eid weekend has worked for the film. So, how important is release date for a film? Anyone can make a film, but releasing it on the right time plays a major role. Every team works hard to bring out their a good film, but it is always a struggle to get a release date. We had to keep the upcoming big releases in mind and plan accordingly. Our film Jackson Durai, too, is a horror-comedy that was released recently. But this one is quite different. So, we had to keep both the films in mind before zeroing in on the release date. In fact, we finalised in a matter of a week. Also, Eid is a good day to release our film, says Murali.
After Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya, this is the second film Murali is teaming up with Santhanam. It is always nice to work with him. Kanna... got a good response, and now, Dhilluku Dhuddu has got a better and bigger opening. We have also begun dubbing work in Telugu, he informs.
