In the viral clip, several AI generated celebrities appear to be attending the wedding, including Trisha Krishnan, Shruti Haasan, Anirudh Ravichander, Ajith Kumar, Dulquer Salmaan, and Thalapathy Vijay. For the unversed, the visuals were digitally created using AI tools and do not depict a real event.

Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur have been rumoured to be dating since last year, though neither actor has ever confirmed or addressed the speculation. The buzz intensified recently after claims emerged online suggesting that the two were set to get married in February 2026.

However, these reports were firmly denied by a source close to the actors.

Shutting down the marriage rumours, a source close to Mrunal told Hindustan Times, “There is absolutely no truth to these reports. Mrunal is not getting married next month. This is a rumour that has caught wind for no reason.”

The timing of the alleged wedding also raised questions within industry circles, given Mrunal’s busy work schedule.

“She has a release scheduled for February, followed by another Telugu film in March. It doesn’t make sense for her to plan a wedding in the middle of back-to-back releases,” the source said, adding that her focus is currently on her professional commitments.

Mrunal Thakur shares first post amid rumours

Amid the speculation surrounding her personal life, Mrunal Thakur shared her first Instagram post, subtly addressing the noise. She posted a video of herself on a boat, enjoying the sunset and sea breeze, with her wavy hair left open as she gazed at the calm waters.

Keeping the caption minimal, she wrote, “Grounded, glowing and unshaken!”

Soon after the wedding rumours began circulating, Mrunal also made her first public appearance. She was spotted attending producer Ramesh Taurani’s birthday party.

How did the rumours begin?

For the uninitiated, dating rumours involving Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur first surfaced in August 2025, when the actress was seen warmly greeting the Tamil star at the premiere of her film Son Of Sardaar 2. A video of their interaction went viral on social media.

Prior to that, Mrunal’s presence at the wrap party of Dhanush’s film Tere Ishk Mein had also fuelled speculation.
