Dhanush makes surprise entry at AR Rahman's Mumbai concert; stirs internet with live performance of 'Adangaatha Asuran' from 'Raayan'

Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman’s The Wonderment Tour – Global Premiere witnessed a magical moment in Navi Mumbai recently, when actor Dhanush made an unannounced appearance during the grand concert held at DY Patil Sports Stadium. The Oscar-winning composer had a packed stadium swaying to his tunes, but the evening turned electric when Dhanush stepped on stage.

Several videos and pictures of Dhanush are going viral on the internet, where he is seen performing Adangaatha Asuran from his directorial venture 'Raayan'. The crowd erupted in cheer as Rahman and Dhanush sang the track live. The song has been gaining attention online for its pulsating energy since its release last year, and the live rendition by the two stalwarts left fans and listeners in awe.

The lyrics of the song were penned by Dhanush himself, with Rahman handling the composition and singing alongside the actor for the movie.



Dhanush took to his Instagram account to share a picture with Rahman from the stage, captioned: “An absolute honour @arrahman sir ❤️.”

During the performance, he also praised Rahman’s genius, calling his work “unbelievable” and lauding him repeatedly. In a heartwarming exchange, Rahman responded by thanking the Vaathi actor for appearing relaxed on stage, even though the actor admitted he was nervous.

Social media is filled with comments and admiration for both, and many users on X (formerly Twitter) expressed their disappointment at being unable to attend the concert live.

A.R. Rahman is now gearing up for his next project as music composer, 'Thug Life', starring Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan TR, Trisha Krishnan, and Sanya Malhotra. The movie, directed by Mani Ratnam, will hit theatres on June 5.

Meanwhile, Dhanush is preparing for the release of 'Kuberaa', alongside Nagarjuna Akkineni and Rashmika Mandanna.
