Actor
Dhanush got all emotional while reminiscing about his gangster flick, Pudhupettai, which hit screens 13 years ago. The film, which released in 2006, was written and directed by Dhanush’s elder brother, director
Selvaraghavan and was set in the slums of Pudhupettai in Chennai.
Though the film received mixed reviews at the Box Office, today, Pudhupettai is considered as one of the best films made in Tamil cinema.
An emotional Dhanush shared his excitement on his micro-blogging page. He posted, “13 years of pudhupettai .. a true cult classic from the master film maker @selvaraghavan .. will always feel proud to have been a part of this epic. Thank you all for celebrating this film and kokki kumar even after 13 years. Overwhelmed.” In the meantime, Dhanush is busy working on Asuran along with Manju Warrier. The film is directed by
Vetri Maaran.
