‘D55’: Sreeleela joins Dhanush as the female lead in the upcoming Rajkumar Periasamy directorial

Actress Sreeleela is now part of the upcoming Dhanush starrer tentatively titled ‘D55’. The film will be helmed by ‘Amaran’ director Rajkumar Periasamy. The makers took to social media to share photos of Sreeleela with the team. Let’s take a look.

The production company shared the big update on their X handle. They wrote, "You didn’t see this coming. Welcoming the dazzling damsel @sreeleela14 on board #D55 (sic)." Along with this message, they shared photos of Sreeleela and Dhanush together. This will be the first time Sreeleela and Dhanush are working together. In the picture, the ‘Kuberaa’ actor is seen in a casual outfit in a white shirt and a pair of jeans. Meanwhile, Sreeleela looks adorable in a floral printed kurti, holding a bouquet of flowers.

Fans shared that indeed it was a surprise, as many internet users in the comments wrote, “Twist,” where they expected another pairing.

A first-look video titled ‘The Name is Kara’ was released recently. The video shows Dhanush in a serious and intense role. It hints at a story about violence and survival. The tone feels dark and powerful. Shooting for ‘D55’ is happening in Mumbai right now. The team plans to continue filming till the end of 2026.

Dhanush was last seen in the Hindi movie ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ opposite Kriti Sanon.
