Comedian Alwa Vasu is no more

Veteran comedy actor Alwa Vasu passed away in Madurai on Thursday (August 17). We hear that the actor was suffering from liver-related issues and was undergoing treatment regarding the same at Madurai Meenakshi Mission hospital for the last six months. Vasu began his career as an assistant director to Manivannan. He rose to popularity with his character in Amaidhi Padai. He has teamed up with veteran comedian Vadivelu as his sidekick in a number of films and the duo is quite a hit combo. He has appeared in over 500 films. He has also acted in National award winning movies Aadukalam and Visaaranai.
