Cheran gets accolades for Yuddham Sei
It wasnt long ago when actor-director Cheran expressed his doubts to Mysskin and other close friends about pulling off the role of a CB-CID officer in Yuddham Sei.
But now, the actor is totally convinced he fit the role perfectly, thanks to the appreciation hes been getting from both the audience and the critics.
All those whove seen the film have appreciated the concept and my character.
1x1 polls
Many even said that the role was tailor-made for me! Hearing it from many veterans and the public has given me a lot of confidence. From now on, Ill gladly take up roles that I havent done earlier, says a beaming Cheran.
He admits that playing JK was a difficult task. JK is not like the kind of roles Ive played till date. Expressing happiness, sadness and anger doesnt come naturally to him. He cries and laughs within himself. His body language is very subtle and he thinks like a pro. Director Mysskin had carefully sculpted my character and I followed his instructions. Im just an actor in this film; the story and subject are his, he says.
Cheran reveals that of all the compliments he has received for his role, he will forever cherish what his director, K S Ravikumar, told him. Im from Ravikumar sirs school. Though he has appreciated me for most of the films that Ive directed, hes never complimented me on my acting skills. But, after seeing this film, he personally told me he liked me in the film. Hes my guru he has scolded me many times when Ive erred and hes praised me when Ive done something good. So, his words are very important for me, he says.

Moving on, Cheran is looking forward to Muran thats directed by Rajan Madhav. There are several things in the film that I loved doing. Rajan has explored the darker side of a man. Everyone who sees the film will think hes met a character from the film in his life. Nikita, Prasanna and Haripriya play important roles and all our characters are important to move the story forward, he signs off.
The other side...
For Cheran, Yuddham Sei is special not only because it earned him a good name, but also because it gave him an opportunity to meet his online friends! Ive at least 200 friends online who stay in Chennai. They constantly stay in touch with me and we discuss films often. So, I arranged a special screening of the film for them. I didnt feel like asking them to pay up the ticket price, but I told them that if they feel like, they could contribute funds for CHILD, a home in Korattur that takes care of children who are either orphans or whose parents are HIV positive. I was able to raise Rs 37, 000 when we held the show and we donated it to the home, he says.
