A major development has come in the ‘Bro Code’ title dispute, with the
Madras High Court being told that Ravi Mohan Studios and the Delhi-based liquor company are close to signing a settlement agreement. Lawyers from both sides said that talks are in progress and a final agreement is likely to be signed by the end of this month. Based on this update, Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy adjourned the case to February 25, showing clear progress towards a solution.
February 25 hearing and possible resolution
Now, both parties have chosen to go for a legal settlement negotiation rather than a litigation battle in court. As per News 18, the plan to sign a settlement agreement shows that the dispute may soon come to an end. If the deal is completed, it will clear the way for the film’s promotions and release without any legal trouble. The next hearing on February 25 is expected to move the case closer to a final resolution.
'Bro Code' film details, cast and teaser buzz
The film stars Ravi Mohan as actor and producer alongside Karthik Yogi as director, and it is about a Tamil movie titled ‘Bro Code’. Along with them, one can expect S.J. Suryah, Arjun Ashokan, Shraddha Srinath, and many more familiar faces. The film's teaser, released earlier, created good buzz among fans. However, the excitement soon turned into a legal issue when a Delhi-based liquor company objected to the film using the title 'Bro Code.'
How the legal fight began
The liquor company claimed it owns the trademark rights to the name 'Bro Code' and informed Ravi Mohan Studios that the title should not be used. After this, Ravi Mohan Studios moved to the Madras High Court and asked for legal protection. The court later gave an interim order, allowing the filmmakers to continue using the title while the case was being heard.
