'Blame it all on Subramaniapuram!'

Actress Swati tells us why she didnt sign another film until now post the success of her debut flick...
'Blame it all on Subramaniapuram!'
Actress Swati has been shooting in the city for her film with Sasikumar in Samuthirakanis Porali. I was slated to play the role of a slum-dweller. But, my character was later changed to that of a city girl, whos happy with her life, and extremely independent, begins Swati.
The actress is joining hands with Sasikumar and Samuthirakani, once again after Subramaniapuram.

Making Samuthirakani smile was a Herculean task. I had other things to concentrate on like memorising my lines and speaking in the Madurai dialect. But this film is very different. I feel Ive known the duo for eons, she says and adds, But theyre still the same old professionals.
The actress adds that the team has fun while shooting. Mostly, at my expense! Im fluent in Tamil and so, the ADs have stopped giving me my lines a day before. I have to run after them for the lines, she exclaims.
Ask why it took Swati so long to sign another film in Tamil and she says, Blame it on the success of Subramaniapuram! The character Tulasi was so welletched that all that roles Id gotten after, were identical. Playing Tulasi was a taxing experience. So much effort has gone into the film and it had paid off well. But, I wasnt sure if I could play another such character again, she says.
Swati has bagged several awards for her performances in Tamil and Telugu, admits it wasnt until recently that shes taken acting seriously. When Subramaniapuram and Ashta Chemma came my way, I took up the offer because I thought it would be a good exposure. When I received the state award, my friends told me I had to take up acting, she signs off.
