Bharathirajaa
's new film,
Meendum Oru Mariyadhai
(formerly titled Old Man), is all set to get released on February 21. The film, which has the legendary director playing the lead along with newcomer
Raasi Nakshathra
is set abroad and revolves around the relationship between an
old man
and a 20-something girl.
"A girl is about to commit a suicide, and a writer, who uses OM (Old Man for short) as his pseudonym, stops her from doing so. The two of them have their own share of troubles. He asks her why she wants to commit suicide and she replies that she is fed up of life. But he tells her that life is precious and that she has no right to die. He offers her a deal — travel with him for 10 days, so that he can show her how the world is beautiful, and if, at the end of the trip, she still finds the world a place of suffering, he will kill her himself. What happens in those 10 days, and what decision the girl takes in the end forms the plot," the director had told us in an interview earlier.
The film also has Mounica Balu Mahendra and Joe Malloori in crucial supporting roles. Salai Shadevan has handled the cinematography of this film which has dialogues by
Madhan Karky. NR Raghunanthan has composed the songs while Sabesh-Murali have scored the background score.
