Siddharth might have walked away with all the accolades but the man behind the success of Love Failure is the 24-year-old director Balaji Mohan, who also wrote the films script. He probably would not have asked for a better debut as Love Failure has been garnering compliments from all quarters.
The young director is on cloud nine as he never thought he would direct Siddharth in his first ever project.

So passionate is he about films that he discontinued engineering to pursue filmmaking. He joined a film institute in Chennai and then on, started his journey. Though he made a short film earlier, titled How To Mess Up In Love, he considers the Siddharth and Amala Paul starrer to be his big break. Usually when someone fails in love, they turn frustrated, angry and disappointed. But I wanted to show something different and funny, says Balaji Mohan about the short film. He drew inspiration from friends and close ones. The short film caught the attention of many, including actor Siddharth and producer Sashikanth. Sashikanth and Nirav Shah (cinematographer) approached me and asked me to come up with a script for a feature film, informs the director. Balaji did as told but didnt know Siddharth would be playing the lead. Shashikanth introduced me to Siddharth and I was told that I would be directing the film. I just couldnt believe, says Balaji.
Once on the job, Balaji says he had had a nice experience. There are actors who want to be narrated the script and their scenes on the set, during the shooting, but Siddharth is different. He always wanted a bound script, so that he could read it entirely before shooting, says Balaji, adding that the title was suggested by Siddharth himself as the story is very close to the actor, and thats the reason he liked the script, in the first place.
When asked if the film reflected his personal life too, Balaji says that his love is not a failure. I have a smooth love life, he says laughing.
Not many know that Balaji Mohan has a Telugu connection too. My father is from Amalapuram and my mother is from Chennai. They fell in love and married, says Balaji.
Now thats a complete love story with no failure!
