, who was part of Avatharam alongside Bala Singh, called him a simple-hearted, genuine person. “He is far too young. He recently got his daughter married and felt that his responsibility was over and that he could live his life without any tension. But it’s very sad that there were other plans for him,” says

Revathy and adds, “I feel sad that actors of his calibre for some reason did not find the right space in our cinema. He deserved better. It’s not anybody’s fault, but it just happens. He could ace any role and play it with sincerity. He was such a simple-hearted person. He would never butter anyone to get any kind of preference and just went about his life so normally.”

Actress Indhuja, who starred in Bala Singh’s last film Magamuni credits him to be one of the most wonderful actors in the industry. “I could not share screen space with him in the film. But he was such an amazing actor. Very few actors are respected so consistently for such a long time in the industry,” she adds.

His demise is a huge loss for Tamil cinema, producer

says, “There are very few trained actors in the industry like Nasser sir and Pasupathi sir. And Bala Singh was one of them. He was such a well-trained and refined actor who has given such brilliant performances,” the producer recalls.

Tributes for the actor poured in from admirers and members from the film fraternity on social media. Director Selvaraghavan, who has worked with him in Pudhupettai and NGK, tweeted, “My deepest condolences to the
