Awards are motivating: Lakshmi Ramakrishnan

Actress-turned-director Lakshmi Ramakrishnan earned a lot of praise for her directorial debut Aarohanam. She is of the opinion that there is nothing like awards and accolades to motivate those in the film industry to give their best. At a glittering function held recently at the Benz Park Hotel in the city, nominations were released to vie for contention at the 6th edition of the annual Edison awards.
Speaking at an event to announce nominees for the sixth annual Edison Awards, Lakshmi said every artiste craves for honour and recognition. The award-winners are chosen through on-line polls and the awards for various categories will be given away at a function sometime in February.
Lakshmi Ramakrishnan and actress Viji Chandrasekhar made a couple of nominations. Viji felt moved that after so many years in the industry, her name features in the list of nominees under the ���best actress��� category. Viji had put in a highly-appreciative performance in Lakshmi���s 'Aarohanam' last year. ���I���m thankful to Lakshmi for choosing me for the role and hope the voting patter favours me,��� she said.
