'August 16, 1947' is completely fictional and the film has nothing to do with real-life incidents that happened during the Indian Independence. But Pon Kumar has done a wide search to make a film with no errors, and he has taken a long time to build the film's story. Also, the director has keenly shaped the film, and the makers' belief in the director transformed the film into a multi-language release.
